Candy, rubber cement
2026
This portrait was inspired by a photograph I took of myself shortly after having gum surgery. I recreated the portrait using candy in varying sizes, colors and textures. I created this mosaic by gluing each piece on plexiglass using tweezers. Using non-traditional art supplies and a limited color palette challenged me to think creatively about how color and shape would make the image recognizable.

Gouache, colored pencils, digital photography, skateboard
2025
I created this mixed-media skateboard, inspired by a photograph I took in Poland, Maine. During my summers there, I made some of my favorite memories. The image reflects the calm lake surrounded by towering trees—a snapshot of my time there. First, I created the image using gouache and colored pencils, and then digitally placed it onto the shape of a skateboard. I explored how personal memories can be incorporated into everyday objects. I added wheels to make the skateboard functional, symbolizing how the memories I made will move with me wherever I go.
